BP joins with Chariot at Namibian block

Cape Town—The UK’s Chariot Oil and Gasunveiled BP as its new partner at a block inthe deepwater offshore Namibia August 8, asone of Africa’s most prospective regions for oiland gas attracted a second major company. Under the deal, BP is to acquire half ofChariot’s 50% stake in block 2714A, whichis operated and 50% held by Brazilian state-controlled oil company Petrobras.
