London-Italy's Eni reported better-than-expected earnings for fourth quarter of 2010 but failed to lift investor sentiment over its production potential and key natural gas sales division this year. The Rome-based company said earnings adjusted to exclude the value of stocks rose to Eur1.72 billion ($2.33 billion) in the quar- ter, helped by higher oil prices, a weaker euro and growing production volumes.
