Baghdad-Iraq's Parliament and Cabinet energy committees were set the week starting July 3 to begin debating a law to form a new national oil company and one to regulate the entire oil sector. Both laws, drafted in 2006 and 2007 but sidelined by political infighting, are part of a package of oil-related legislation seen as necessary to streamline the oil strategy in the country.
