Cameron LNG gets approval to re-export up to 250 Bcf

Washington-Cameron LNG can export for-eign-sourced LNG from its Louisiana terminal for two years, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission said January 20. The Sempra Energy subsidiary pitched the business plan to regulators last fall as a way to weather the brutal gas import market. The permission allows Cameron LNG to buy gas produced outside the US, store it at the Cameron Parish import terminal and later ship LNG cargoes to markets with higher demand.
