Houston—Contract driller Hercules Offshore “will not fight” the declaration of force majeure on one of its Gulf of Mexico jackup rigs this week by Chevron, even though it does not view a temporary federal moratorium in May as sufficient reason to invoke the legal clause, the driller’s CEO said June 30.
