Petrobras moves forward on US Cascade, Chinook fields

Houston-Petrobras America, which is gearing up for first oil from the deepwater Cascade and Chinook fields in the Gulf of Mexico by mid-2010, expects to complete one of three wells at the fields during the next few months, the development's top executive said February 26."We'll wait for subsea commissioning of the (floating, production, storage and offloading vessel), and expect to complete the first Cascade well a couple of months before expected first oil" in mid-2010, Cesar Palagi, Walker Ridge asset manager for Petrobras America, said at a press conference following his presentation to the Brazil-Texas Chamber of Commerce here.
