Indian oil consumption up 6% in December

Singapore-Refined product sales in India, a proxy for the country's oil demand, clambered back above the 11 million mt mark in December. Sales totaled 11.36 million mt, up 5.9% on the corresponding month of 2008 and 5.2% higher than the 10.79 million mt sold in November, according to the latest data from the oil ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell.
