Kurds make Iraq oil, revenue law demands

London-Iraq's Kurdistan Alliance political bloc will only be part of the coalition govern- ment currently forming in Baghdad if the long- stalled hydrocarbon and revenue-sharing laws are approved by mid-2011, Kurdistan's Natur- al Resources Minister Ashti Hawram said November 30. "To take part in the power-sharing agree- ment in the federal government, this law must be passed," Hawram told the Iraq Petroleum conference in London, referring specifically to the revenue sharing law. "The timeline to enact this law is no later than June 2011."
