NYMEX crude price hits year-high settle

New York-Front-month crude futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange settled at the highest level in more than a year on January 6, $83.18/b, despite a 1.329 million barrel build in US commercial crude stocks reported by the US Energy Information Administration. The February crude contract's close was the highest for the NYMEX front-month crude contract since October 9, 2008.
