Indonesia West Madura output halted, platform hit

Jakarta-South Korea’s Kodeco Energy has halted oil and gas output in Indonesia’s West Madura block, offshore East Java, after the production platform was hit by a container ship, a spokesman for upstream regulator BPMigas, Elan Biantoro, said August 16. The vessel hit one of Kodeco’s 14 production platforms, namely KE40, causing it to tilt by 40 degrees, and also damaged some other facilities, including dock and hand rails, Biantoro said.
