Tullow sinks first 'dry' well in prolific Ugandan play

London-Anglo-Irish explorer Tullow Oil said May 27 it had failed to find oil with its Awaka-1 exploration well in block 2 of Uganda's Butiaba region, hitting water-bearing reservoir sands.The "dry" well follows a string of successes in the region where the company hopes to prove a total of 1 billion barrels in the Lake Albert Rift Basin.
