Russia, Ukraine remain in gas deadlock, still blame each other

Moscow-Russia and Ukraine remained in deadlock over natural gas supplies to Europe January 15 and no solution is expected before a meeting in Moscow on January 17 between European gas consumers, the EU, Russia and possibly Ukraine. Russia’s Gazprom said January 15 Ukraine again blocked transit of Russian gas to Europe, while Ukraine maintained its view that it could not resume transit with only the small volumes Gazprom was sending.
