Iran to develop 20 new oil, gas fields to 2015; NIOC says some fields to be offered to foreign companies

Moscow-Iran plans to develop 20 onshore and offshore oil and gas fields as part of its next five-year development plan, some of which will be offered to foreign oil companies, a senior Iranian official said June 23. "In the fifth five-year plan, we plan to develop more than 20 fields in the offshore and onshore," Bahan Sorooshi, manager for oil and gas at the National Iranian Oil Company, said on the sidelines of an energy conference in Moscow. Iran's next five-year plan will be implemented from March 2010.
