TAQA takes control of UK's Brent system from Shell

London-The Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) said August 3 it assumed opera-torship of the UK's North Sea Brent System pipeline and facilities August 1 after acquiring Shell's stake in the assets last year. TAQA, which is majority owned by the cash-rich capital of the UAE, agreed to buy a package of UK North Sea assets from Shell and ExxonMobil last July for $631 million (ON 7/8/08).
