Crescent Point expands with TriAxon buy

Vancouver-Crescent Point Energy, a midsized Canadian producer, has further shored up its light oil plays in Saskatchewan and central Alberta through a C$249 million ($236 million) takeover of privately held TriAxon Resources, lending weight to forecasts of a livelier M&A market in Canada. The TriAxon deal, announced November 9 and expected to close by December 15, includes 1,400 boe/d of production (80% light oil and natural gas liquids) and 12.4 million boe of proved and probable reserves.
