Chubu Electric nuclear outage may continue

Tokyo-Chubu Electric Power Company could face a longer outage than expected at its earthquake-hit Hamaoka nuclear plant in central Japan due to geological concerns, a government source told Platts late August 13. The government may ask the utility to conduct a geological structure survey of the area around the plant, which could take longer than a planned probe into the plant facilities alone, the source said.
