Peru oil production rises 25% in January-October period

Santiago, Chile-Peru produced 43.704 million barrels of oil in the first 10 months of the year, a rise of 25% from the same period of 2008, state oil company Perupetro said November 8. The increase reflected the start of production from block 56 and the Cashiriari field (block 88) in September 2008 and July 2009, respectively, Perupetro said.
