Iraqi refinery output climbs sharply in 2008

Amman-Iraq’s output of refined products in 2008 was 42% higher than in 2007 with all principal products showing a marked increase, thanks largely to completion of major maintenance work at its biggest refinery and increased reliability of crude supplies to refineries. A Platts calculation of average daily production rates for 2008 using monthly figures obtained from oil ministry sources showed that there was a substantial increase in the output of all principal products-LPG, gasoline, kerosene and gasoil.
