Lagos-The sabotage of production facilities by militants in the Niger Delta has cut Nigerian oil output to 1.5 million b/d, almost 60% below full capacity of 3.6 million b/d, the head of the Department of Petroleum Resources told Platts in an interview August 13. "The reality as of today is that we are doing 1.5 million b/d because of the crisis in the Niger Delta," DPR Director Billy Agha said.
