Nippon Oil eyes higher gasoline exports in January

Tokyo-Japan's largest refiner Nippon Oil is planning the unusual move of exporting around 80,000 kl (503,184 barrels) of gasoline or reformate on a spot basis in January due to weak domestic demand for motor fuel, a source close to the matter said December 11. The planned export of gasoline would be in addition to the refiner's shipment of two spot cargoes of medium-range jet fuel and gasoil for the month, the source said. The forecast gasoline export volume for January would be double Nippon Oil's planned shipment of around 40,000 kl in December.
