Yemen hopes new exploration effort can reverse falling oil output

Sanaa, Yemen—Yemen’s oil production is expected to fall from an average 320,000 b/d to 300,000 b/d in 2008 but the country is implementing strategies, including the award of 14 exploration blocks this year, to lift production starting 2010.
