Nigeria shuts in 100,000 b/d of crude output on pipeline woes

Cape Town, South Africa-Nigeria has been forced to shut in over 100,000 b/d of crude oil production after an attack on a pipeline operated by Chevron and an explosion on another operated by Shell in the volatile southern Niger Delta region, the state-owned Nigerian National Oil Corporation said November 17. Some 45,000 b/d has been shut in after the Chevron-operated pipeline feeding the Escravos terminal was sabotaged in the Delta State, NNPC's head of crude oil marketing, Aminu Baba-Kusa, told Platts.
