TriStar, Real Resources in C1 billion merger

Vancouver—Oil-weighted TriStar Oil & Gas and natural gas-heavy Real Resources said May 21 they are merging to create a new intermediate-sized conventional producer, taking advantage of what they described as fresh opportunities under Canada’s revised tax rules for income trusts.
