Qatar advances refinery expansion plans

Doha, Qatar—Qatar’s plans to increase its refining capacity are taking shape, Qatari Oil Minister Abdullah al-Attiyah said June 23. The government is studying plans to build a new 250,000 b/d oil refinery at the Ras Laffan industrial complex and is slated to issue an international tender for construction of the al-Shaheen refinery.
