Total lone firm defying Venezuela back tax claim

Caracas- Total is the only oil company of 22 in Venezuela converting their operations to joint ventures that is refusing to pay a back tax bill,an official from the Seniat tax agency said Feb 15."All the other companies have either paid what they owe or said they are prepared to pay," the Seniat's special contributions manager,Jose Cedillo,told Platts in a telephone interview."The only company that hasn't is Total Oil & Gas."
