Vietnam's power complex gets ADB funds

Singapore-Vietnam is on track for developing a 2,850 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle power generation complex at O Mon in the southern Can Tho province with the Asian Development Bank recently approving a 1.7 million technical assistance grant for two phases of the project. The Mekong Delta complex, 300 km south of Ho Chi Minh City, is currently planned for a four-phase development, with the first instalment to be commissioned in 2008 and the entire 2,850 MW complex expected online in 2012, an ADB official told Platts.
