Orphan Basin partners set new drill plan

Partners in Newfoundland's Orphan Basin have a deal with Ocean Rig to start drilling the underexplored but highly rated prospect in 2006 or early 2007.ExxonMobil and the Norwegian-based drilling contractor said June 14 they have signed a tetter of intent to use the Elrik Raude to drill tie first exploration well since 1979 in the deepwater basin.The semi-submersible rig is working off Norway until the end of 2005.
