Refinery bill narrowly passes US House

Washington-The US House narrowly approved legislation Oct 7 intended to expedite the siting and construction of new domestic refineries and allow existing refiners to expand capacity.With Republicans failing to get a majority of support for the measure during the five-minute vote,the Republican leadership held the vote open for more than 45 minutes,while they sought to get members in their party voting against the measure to switch positions.
