London-Almost half of France's refining capacity remained under siege Oct 7 as unions voted to extend two separate strikes which have been hampering the industry for nearly two weeks.Unions voted to prolong a strike at Total's 343,000 b/d Gonfreville refinery in northern France to at least Oct 10,when a new meeting with management is to be held,a company spokeswoman said.
