Singapore-China's three major oil companies intensified exploration efforts last year,boosting the country's reserves by around 850-mil mt,the official People's Daily reported Feb 11. State-owned China National Petroleum Corp found 520-mil mt of new verified oil reserves and 243.6-bil cu m (8.56 Tcf) of proven natural gas deposits in six regions in 2004,the report said.
