PDVSA to run Ecuadorian oil at Paraguana

Caracas-Venezuelan state oil company PDVSA plans to process Ecuadorian Napo and Oriente crude in its Paraguana refining complex and possibly in the refining circuit of its wholly owned US subsidiary Citgo,Energy Ministry Rafael Ramirez said after a press conference on January 15.Oriente,at 24 API and 1.4% sulfur,is a lighter crude that will lighten the Venezuelan crude basket,Ramirez said.The refining agreement is one of several deals Venezuela plans to sign with the government of newly inaugurated Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa,Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said in Ecuador,reiterated in a PDVSA statement on January 15.
