China's Jiangxi Copper Co has struck a joint venture deal with Yates Foil of the USA to produce copper foil in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi province. The new company will manage a new 6,000 tpy electrolytic copper foil mill at a new technology park in Nanchang, about 200km from Jiangxi Copper's Guixi city works. The plant, which will be imported by Yates, is due for start-up by the middle of next year; a Jiangxi Copper official told MB. Yet to be decided is the name of the estimated 578m yuan (69.82m dollars) joint venture, and whether Jiangxi's share will be held by its listed arm or parent group Jiangxi Copper Corp.
