Norway's oil and gas sector can expect around 12,000 more lay-offs between now and 2018 but thereafter the industry is expected to turn a corner, leading to a potential recruitment drive for 22,000 new workers by 2020, a report says. The study, conducted by the International Research Institute of Stavanger on behalf of the Norwegian Oil & Gas Association (NOGA), shows that around 38,000 direct oil industry workers were laid off between 2014 and March 2016.
