Indian Shale Round Delayed

India’s first shale gas acreage auction has been pushed back to next year, marking the latest delay in the country’s bid to harness its sizable shale gas potential. Petroleum Minister S. Jaipal Reddy and Oil Secretary G.C. Chaturvedi were quoted separately as saying the mapping of shale resources has been completed and policies should be in place by December 2013.
