The OECD has reiterated its long-standing call for world governments to phase out fossil fuel subsidies, this time warning in a new study that the repeal of such measures -- along with a price on carbon -- will be integral to broader efforts to “green” the global economy. Otherwise, countries risk a “grim” future of environmental degradation and reduced economic output, the Parisbased organization declared.
