BP Gets South China Sea Nod From China

BP has received approval from the Chinese government to farm into a block in the deepwater South China Sea. The firm said Wednesday that it has received the green light from the Ministry of Commerce to take a 40.82% stake in gas-prone Block 43/11, a deal which was originally announced in January 2010. The acreage is adjacent to Canadian firm Husky Energy's Liwan gas project in Block 29/26.
