East Siberia Plan Speeds Up

Russia has revised up production targets for its Verkhnechonskoye oil and condensate field in East Siberia as it tries to fast-track output from the region, the main resource base for the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean (Es-po) pipeline. The field is now due to hit peak production in 2014, four years earlier than scheduled, according to Igor Rustamov, head of field operator Verkhnechon-skneftegaz (VCNG). TNK-BP holds 74% of VCNG, and state oil giant Rosneft the rest.
