Shell Told to Shut North Sea Platform

Royal Dutch Shell has been told by the UK's Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to shut its Brent Charlie platform in the UK North Sea from next week for safety reasons. Oil production has already been shut in since January, while gas output, which flows through the Flags pipeline to St. Fergus on Scotland's northeastern coast, has been restricted because of ongoing safety concerns.
