Japan's crude oil imports fell in March by 6.3% to 3.78 million b/d as the country grappled with the aftermath of the devastating earthquake and tsunami on Mar. 11. Domestic consumption of refined products -a proxy for demand that excludes lubricants, asphalt, waxes and liquefied petroleum gas -averaged 3.43 million b/d, a 5.3% fall yearon-year and 12.5% drop from February, according to data released this week by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Meti).
