Apache Buys Stake in Australia

Apache Corp. said it will acquire a 65% interest in Burrup Holdings which is part of a consortium that plans to build a technical ammonium nitrate (TAN) plant in the Burrup Peninsula region of Western Australia. Financial details were not disclosed. The US oil and gas producer has supplied natural gas to Burrup Fertilisers — one of the world’s biggest producers of ammonia — since it started production in the area in 2006.
