Petrobras Launches Gas Pipeline

Brazil's state-controlled energy firm Petrobras said it will inaugurate a large new natural gas pipeline on Wednesday as part of its plan to expand the country's energy infrastructure. The Gasduc III pipeline will have capacity to transport 40 MMcm/d across eight municipalities in Rio de Janeiro state. It will bring gas to five gas-fired power plants with total installed capacity of 3,221 MW, Petrobras said.
