The chairman of the consortium backing the 8 Bcm/yr Galsi pipeline from Algeria to Italy via Sardinia has said start-up will be pushed back to 2014 because of delays in the authorization process and a change in the route to ensure seismic stability. The approvals process started in July 2008 but has not yet been completed, Reuters quoted Roberto Poti as telling a conference in Sardinia. Earlier targets for completion were 2012 and then 2013 - but even 2014 could be tight given that no final investment decision is expected before mid-2010.
