Chrysler net income soars; sees even brighter future

Chrysler Group LLC's net income soared to nearly $1.67 billion last year from $183 million in 2011, driven by a 19.6-percent increase in revenue to more than $65.78 billion on an 18-percent increase in global vehicle shipments. Net income for the three months ended Dec. 31 jumped 68 percent to $378 million from $225 million in the same period a year earlier on a 13.4-percent increase in revenue to more than $17.15 billion.
