Reply to Han and Fioramonti

we would like to thank Drs. Han and Fioramonti for bringing their recent work to our attention. In particular, it is reassuring that both studies reached a similar conclusion with respect to the beneficial effect of SOD-expressing bacteria on colitis amelioration. Our omission in citing their work was an oversight on our part and we apologize for this error. The literature searches we performed preceded publication of their results since our bibliography was completed several months before submission of our manuscript, while we finished the writing and exchange of drafts among the authors. Our paper was reviewed by anonymous reviewers at least some of whom were likely to be experts in the field of lactic acid bacteria, and unfortunately, no one noticed that citation to the related work was overlooked.
