Agchem industry experts tackle resistance to agchems from pests, weeds and regulators

Pesticide industry panellists debate roles of growers and industry to combat the increasing threat from resistance to pesticides at the Agrow Awards Forum, Robert Birkett reports. Five industry experts shared their perspectives on resistance to pesticides with Charlotte Smith of the BBC and a pesticide industry audience prior to the 2016 Agrow Awards held in London, last month. They called on the industry to focus on improving growers’ knowledge of how to counter the rise of resistance, while widening product availability through new formulations and either an easing of regulations or seeking different regulator markets.
