Australia to revamp agchem fee/ levy scheme

An independent consultant commissioned by the Australian Department of Agriculture has recommended a "fundamental shift" in the cost recovery arrangements of the Agricultural Chemicals and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA). It specifically calls on the Authority to reduce its reliance on cross-subsidising the cost of its activities through the annual levy on product sales.
