Vietnam has the second-largest planted crop area in South-East Asia, at 9.4 million ha, and a pesticide market valued at $1,000 million, the largest in the region, reports the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA). The CCPIA published a report on the Vietnamese agrochemical industry to drum up interest in the crop protection exhibition and summit meeting that it is holding in the country in July this year. The CCPIA expects 200 companies to attend. China is Vietnam’s major supplier of pesticides, with 90% of Vietnam’s agrochemicals being exported from the neighbouring country
