Hallador Energy earned amodest profit in the third quarter as the Illinois Basin thermal coalproducer continues to reduce operating costs, the company’spresident and CEO said Monday.Brent Bilsland, president and CEO of the Colorado-based company,told analysts during a conference call to discuss quarterly earnings thatHallador’s Sunrise Coal subsidiary has locked in sales of up to 6.4 millionst in 2016 and expects that figure to rise in the coming months. Sunriseis expected to produce about 7.5 million st of thermal coal in 2016.
