NORMAL PARAFFIN from gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant can soon replace kerosene-based n-paraffin,which will provide linear alkylbenzene (LAB) producers a more cost-effective feedstock,according to Rob van der Meij,global business manager of Shell's alcohol and alcohol derivatives business."GTL n-paraffin is being received by the LAB industry as a welcome addition," he said."The key benefit of GTL n-paraffin is its lower manufacturing cost compared to conventional kerosene-extraction plants.This in turn provides LAB producer with a more cost-effective feedstock."
