ADM Buys Solae's Soy Isoflavones Business

ARCHER DANIELS Midland Company(ADM)has purchased the global isoflavones business of The Solae Company,its competitor,for an undisclosed amount.The companies say the transaction is a settlement agreement to a patent infringement suit that Solae filed against ADM in 2003.The acquisition includes Solae's extensive portfolio of US patents,a number of foreign equivalents,and pending applications.ADM will also get patent rights from Novogen,which held a licence to soy isoflavones with Solae.
